OHA Edmonton (9) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) U15
OHA Edmonton came into Saturday morning searching for a response after a tough stretch of results, and they delivered an overwhelming one in a 9-1 win over Pacific Coast Hockey Academy. OHA Edmonton exploded out of the gate with three goals in the opening three minutes and four in the first period alone, highlighted by a dominant performance from Cohen Courchesne (2G, 1A), who scored twice before the ten-minute mark and later added an assist on the power play. PCHA’s lone bright moment came late in the first when Koen Nicholas buried his 25th of the season, but from there the ice tilted entirely toward OHA. Damon Chinski (1G, 1A) added a shorthanded marker in the second, Ben Miller struck twice from the blue line.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) vs BWC Academy (4/OT) U15
BWC grabs a 4–3 overtime win at home this morning. BWC struck first late in the opening frame through Brady Droulis (1G), only for NAX to answer 21 seconds later with Kendon Peacock’s (1G, 1A) eighth of the year. The teams traded punches all game, Mason Zimmer (1G, 1A) buried a power-play marker in the second before Alex Iaichkin (2G) responded on BWC’s man-advantage, and the third period opened with fireworks as Mars Zhang (1G, 2A) scored 19 seconds in, followed by Ayden Bouchard (1G, 1A) tying it again for NAX just two minutes later. Overtime lasted only 25 seconds Iaichkin went end-to-end and put it five-hole, the BWC sniper buried his second of the morning to end it. Both goalies were outstanding Lachlan Beatty (46/49) stopped 46 of 49 for BWC, while Jace Hilliard (40/44) made 40 saves across regulation. BWC’s top guns Zhang and Iaichkin ultimately made the difference.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) vs North Shore Warriors (0) Female U18 Prep
South Alberta Hockey Academy and the North Shore Warriors entered Saturday’s matchup trending in opposite directions, but SAHA delivered one of their most structured performances of the season in a 2-0 shutout win. After a quiet opening frame, SAHA finally broke through late in the second when Teylor Crocker (1G, 1A) finished off a clean passing play from Riley Bourque, giving them a deserved lead in a period where they doubled North Shore in shots. Early in the third, Hallie Parada (1G) added insurance with her fourth of the year, and from there SAHA simply squeezed the life out of the game. Mika Yokota (14/14) turned aside all 14 shots she faced for the shutout, while SAHA’s skaters drove play from start to finish with a commanding 38–14 shot advantage.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (5/OT) vs Notre Dame Hounds (4) U17
Northern Alberta and Notre Dame delivered a wild back-and-forth game, but NAX pulled out a 5-4 overtime win to extend their streak. Ethan Candlish (1G) opened the scoring on the power play before the Hounds answered late with Tobin Donahue (1G). NAX took control in the second thanks to two goals from Rhett Dahl (2G) and strong support plays from Linkoln Philpotts (1A) and Riley Wood (0G), but a late PP marker from Easton Oglestone (1G) kept Notre Dame within reach. The Hounds surged ahead in the third with back-to-back goals from Peter Forbes (2G), yet NAX forced overtime when Matthew Brown (1G, 1A) tied it with under three minutes left. In OT, it was Vaughn Livadney (1G, 0A) who buried the winner off a slick setup from Wood.
OHA Edmonton (3/OT) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) Female U18 Prep
OHA Edmonton and RINK Kelowna delivered another tight, defensive battle, but OHA came out on top 3-2 in overtime to stay near the top of the standings. After a scoreless first, the game opened up in the second. Joryn Hempel (1G) struck first on the power play, then after RINK tied it, Avery Sam (1G, 1A) restored the OHA lead before Sydney McIntosh (1G) responded late to send things to the third locked at 2-2. Both teams tightened up defensively in the final frame, trading chances but no goals. In overtime, it took just one clean look, Ryann Chimera (1G, 1A) buried the winner at 3:35, finishing off a perfect feed from Riley Cooper (3A), who had three assists on the day and was the engine of OHA’s offense. Emma Skolney (29/31) turned aside 29 of 31 shots, standing tall during key moments.
Edge School (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (5) U15
Edge School U15 and Delta Hockey Academy Black U15 battled in a high-scoring affair, but Delta came out on top 5-2 thanks to a dominant third period. After a scoreless first, Edge struck early in the second with power-play goals from Parker Lascelle (1G) and Cohen Snukal-Lyon (1G, 1A) to take a brief lead. Delta responded quickly as Stefano Trentalance (1G, 1A) and Zach Giles (1G, 1A) evened the score before the second period ended. In the third, Delta pulled away with goals from Dean Jones (1G), Bentley Gillis (1G, 1A), and Zach Giles (1G, 2A), turning the game decisively in their favour. Carter Gideon (34/39) kept Edge in the contest with a strong showing in net, but Delta’s relentless attack and balanced scoring proved too much to overcome.
Calgary International Hockey (11) Academy vs North Shore Warriors (1) U15
Calgary International Hockey Academy U15 dominated North Shore in a lopsided 11-1 victory on Saturday, extending their high-powered offense from recent games. CIHA jumped out to an early lead in the first period with two quick goals from Jaxon Dalziel (2G, 1A) and Nick Acierno (1G, 1A), setting the tone. The second period saw the floodgates open, with Lucas Beaudin (3G, 2A), Rhett Davis (2G, 2A), Gavin Worobey (1G, 1A), and Ryder Davis (1G, 1A) all scoring to give CIHA a commanding 8-0 lead. North Shore managed a lone goal from Denver Dairon (1G) in the third, but CIHA responded with three more tallies from Mick Mantrop (1G, 2A), Rhett Davis (1G, 1A), and Lucas Beaudin (1G, 1A) to cap off the blowout. Vincent Arsenault (13/14) was solid in net, while CIHA’s relentless attack kept North Shore on their heels all game.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (2) Female U18 Prep
Northern Alberta Xtreme Female U18 Prep and Okanagan Hockey Academy Black Female U18 Prep delivered a tense battle, but OHA pulled out a 2-1 comeback win in the third period. Braileigh Robertson (1G) struck early for NAXFP at 1:38 of the first, giving them an early lead that held through a scoreless second. OHA answered late in the third with Emily Kempers (1G, 1A) on the power play, followed shortly by Molly Peacock (1G) to complete the turnaround.
Notre Dame Hounds (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (5/OT) U15 Prep
Notre Dame Hounds U15 Prep and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy U15 Prep battled through a wild, high-scoring contest that went all the way to overtime, with PMHA coming out on top 5-4. Alex Abbott (2G) opened the scoring for Notre Dame early in the first, and Marceli Stepien (1G, 1A) and Knox Valentine (1A) kept the Hounds in it through the second period, as Notre Dame briefly led 3-2. Pilot Mound responded with a pair of power-play goals from Brock Vodden (2G, 0A) to tie the game heading into the third, and Oliver Helsen (1G) kept PMHA alive before AJ Bryan (1G, 1A) restored hope for the Hounds late. In overtime, it was Edin Korajac (1G) who netted the game-winner off a slick setup from Nash Ramage (1A) and Anson Salamandyk (1A), finishing off a thriller where Seth Bennett (46/51) stood tall for Notre Dame despite the heartbreaking loss.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) U17
RINK Kelowna U17 stormed back in the third to beat Coeur d’Alene 4–2 after Mitch Wells (2G) had CDA up through 40 minutes, scoring once on the power play and again early in the second. RINK Kelowna tied it when Oliver Peck (1G) struck at 9:41, then Xavier Corten (1G, 1A) buried the go-ahead goal before setting up the insurance marker from Connor Groves (1G, 1A). Noam Colapinto (2A) and Owen Besserer (1A) also factored in, while Liam Reed and Griffin Prairie Chicken battled in net with 34 and 25 saves respectively as RINK’s big third period proved the difference.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3/OT) U18 Prep
RINK Winnipeg came out flying with a strong first period, grabbing a 2–1 lead thanks to goals from Atticus Cruz (1G, 1A) and Sam Grunewald (1G), with helpers from Dylan Russell (1A) and Athens Shingoose (1A), but CIHA slowly took over and rallied for a 3–2 overtime win. Calum Giese (1G, 1A) tied the game in the second before Jacob Balaberda (2G) took control, first scoring late in the first and then burying the OT winner off a setup from James Matheos (1A) and Dominik Silbernagel (2A). Despite being outshot 43–18, RINK Winnipeg stayed alive behind a huge performance from Chase Charriere (40/43), but CIHA’s depth, pressure, and 19-shot third period eventually broke through in extra time.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) vs Notre Dame Hounds (2) U17 Prep
SAHA U17 Prep put together a super clean, all-business performance in a 6–2 win over Notre Dame, getting scoring from everywhere and never really letting the Hounds breathe. Owen Fisher (1G, 1A) opened things up just 1:45 in, and after ND tied it on the power play, Briggs Fabro (1G) restored the lead late in the first. SAHA kept rolling in the second with Eric Schrock (1G, 1A) finishing off a nice setup, and the third was all SAHA. Nixon Bettenson (1G) struck 31 seconds in, Juris Busse (1G, 1A) added another, and Carter Gilchrist (1G, 1A) capped the burst for a 6–1 cushion. Notre Dame got a late PP goal from Eli Swift (1G), but Paxton Smigelski’s steady night (23/25) plus a deep, balanced attack made sure SAHA controlled this one wire to wire.
St. George’s School (0) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (8) U15
Okanagan Hockey Academy U15 dominated start to finish in an 8–0 win over St. George’s, powered by a massive four-goal night from Mack Host (3G, 1A), who scored all three of his third-period tallies in just under seven minutes. Lance Bryant (1G, 1A) opened the scoring on the power play, then Lukas Pandachuck (1G, 1A), Cruz Rasmussen (1G, 1A), Vincent Biro (1G), and Ben Delege (1G, 3A) piled on during a four-goal second period that blew the game open. Kristian Bowen (2A), Reece Verrier (2A), Kane Fitzgerald (1A), Blaine Bartsch (1A), and Host also chipped in helpers, while Linden Hartford earned the shutout with 22 saves as OHA outshot SGS 55–22.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) vs Yale Hockey Academy (4) U15
RINK Winnipeg U15 pulled off a huge comeback win, erasing a 4–0 deficit to beat Yale 5–4 with a dominant final 25 minutes. Yale came out flying behind a Brady Barrett (3G) hat trick and a Carson Maclean (1G, 1A) strike, supported by playmaking from Emmett Rumbold (3A) and Max Nicholson (2A). But once RINK broke through late in the second, the momentum flipped instantly. Caleb Church (1G, 2A) got them on the board, followed by Brock Labelle (1G, 2A) on the power play to cut the lead in half before the intermission. In the third, RINK overwhelmed Yale in transition: Max Manaigre (1G, 1A) buried early to make it 4–3, Jax Fellner (1G) tied it just 26 seconds later, and with five seconds left Brantley Church (1G) completed the comeback off a setup from Labelle. Goaltender Madyx Cyr (32/36) shut the door after the early flurry, backstopping RINK to their sixth straight win.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (4/SO) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
Calgary International Hockey Academy and Pilot Mound played one of the wildest games of the weekend, with CIHA pulling out a 4–3 shootout win thanks to a massive 61-shot performance. CIHA struck first when Loic Lebel (1G) opened the scoring, but Pilot Mound answered with Xianen Evans (2G), who scored late in the first and again early in the second to give PMHA momentum. Bladen Norton (1G) added another in the middle frame, set up by Adam Zamecnik (1A) and Maddox Ramage (2A), pushing their lead to 3–1. CIHA clawed back with a huge power-play goal from Charlie Sarich (1G, 1A) late in the second, and early in the third it was Tomas Figura (1G) who tied the game off a clean feed from Rylan Wood (1A). Overtime solved nothing, but in the shootout, Wood stepped up again, burying the lone goal to secure the win. Taylor Green (20/23) was steady when needed, while Gavin Hildebrand (57/60) was spectacular in defeat as CIHA’s relentless shot volume eventually broke through.
Edge School (4) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U17
Edge School kept their undefeated run alive with a sharp, disciplined 4–2 win over OHA Edmonton, powered by another standout night from their top line and a rock-solid performance between the pipes. Curtis Troeger (2G) opened the scoring on the power play and added another late in the second to restore Edge’s lead. OHA stayed in the fight with goals from Aaron Jackson (1G) on the power play and Caysin Bruno-Morin (1G), with setups from Tucker Porter (1A), Nate McRorie (1A), Neylen Martin (1A) and Liam MacMillan (1A), but they couldn’t break through in the third. Chase Miles (25/27) shut the door the rest of the way, securing Edge’s eleventh straight win.
Edge School (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (5) Female U18 Prep
Abigail Lee (2G) got things cooking for Edge just under three minutes into play. However, a quick response from Delta Black would flip the script in this contest. Mira Morgan would capitalise off an Edge turnover, tying this back up at 1-1. Kinleigh Blane (1G, 1A) and Addi McFegan would pot another two unanswered for Delta Black, giving them a 3-1 lead into the first intermission. Edge would maintain most of the pressure in the second, outshooting Delta Black 13-5, but could not find an answer for Saysha Brace (32/34). Kiernan Ledoux would etch another into Delta Black’s tally, increasing their lead to 4-1. Lee would strike shorthanded in the third, but Edge would end up falling 5-2 after an empty netter from Lucy Williams (1G, 1A). Brace stopped 32 shots in the win, giving her a combined 73 saves on the weekend.
St. George’s School (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep
Max Hoeft (1G, 1A) would open the scoring early for St. George’s but was eventually matched by OHA after Rhys Parker (1G, 1A) dazzled on a solo rush, beating the defender and the goalie on a strong power move to the crease. Later in the second, Mason Liebel would etch OHA’s second on to the scoresheet off a clean dish from Parker. However, the Saints would storm back on the powerplay as Luca Rogers buried his eighth of the campaign. All tied up 2-2 into the third, St. George’s star forward Jayden Ni (2G, 1A) would pot back-to-back goals, including a one-timer on the powerplay off a cross-seam pass from Bingo Zhao (2A). Liam Hussey would put away the empty netter to seal off a 5-2 win for the Saints.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) Female U18 Prep
Kendal Leader and Adriana Duna (1G, 1A) potted two first period goals for RHA Winnipeg, establishing a strong lead through the opening twenty. A quiet second would follow as OHA tried to find a answer for Mars McHenry (19/19). In the third, Sydney Stibbard (1G, 1A) would put this game to bed with a tremendous solo effort, sealing this contest up for RHA Winnipeg by a score of 3-0. McHenry made 19 saves for her second shutout of the season.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) vs Shawnigan Lake School (4) U18 Prep
After a thrilling overtime win last evening, Coeur d’Alene kept building off their late game heroics as Hudson Podollan and Gavin Smith established a 2-0 for CDA early in the first. However, Dayton Killam would bury Shawnigan’s first late in the opening period, eventually setting them up for a strong outing in the second. Nigel Alberts and Sidney Armstrong would score less than a minute apart to give Shawnigan their first lead of the afternoon. Shawnigan’s pressure would continue to supress CDA in the third, leading up to an empty netter for Phoenix Hinks (1G, 2A).
BWC Academy (6) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U17
BWC Academy opened the first with a flurry of three goals over the hosting North Shore Warriors. Into the second, the trend would continue. Max Joseph (3G) would seal up his hat-trick on the powerplay while Ben Bury would add another powerplay marker soon after. Daniel Trifunovic would bury the final goal of the frame for BWC Academy. North Shore would get two back in the third, but the damage was already done in the opening half of this contest.
Yale Hockey Academy (10) vs STAR Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep
Coming off a championship at the Pat Quinn Classic, Yale Hockey Academy has kept their foot on the gas pedal. Parker McMillan (3G, 3A) added another six points to his historic campaign while Connor Baines (2G, 2A) nabbed a pair of goals and assists. Yale’s powerplay would net an impressive five goals in the 10-3 smackdown.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
A pair of goals from Casey Pearson (2G) led Delta to a convincing win over the Wenatchee Wild as they steamrolled their way to a 6-1 victory, outshooting the Wild 60-28 in the process. Colton Brum (3A) and Brady Cyr (3A) would each capture three helpers in the win. Keagan Nussbaum would score the lone goal for Wenatchee, spoiling Quinn Copeland’s (27/28) shutout bid.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4) vs Delta Hockey Academy White (5) U15
Tristan Jakopin (2G, 1A) scored his first of the season to give CDA the initial lead over Delta White. Later in the first, Trevor Polyakov would tie up the contest off a sweet feed from Kayden Krestanovich. Into the second, Noah Yoo (2G) would take one off the crest, bouncing in to give Delta White their first lead. Jagger Clark would strike back soon after with his 31st of the season for CDA. The trading goals back-and-forth would continue as Cruz Natt and Jakopin would exchange goals, making things 3-3 through two. In the third, Aden Bancarz would redirect a goalmouth feed from TJ Podollan (3A) to give CDA the early advantage. However, Delta White would strike back late in the third as Donivan Cominetti and Yoo would strike back-to-back, giving Delta White the lead and eventually the W in a tightly knit affair with CDA.
Bourget College Varsity (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (6) Female U18 Prep
A strong outing from Adie Schneider (2G, 1A) played a key role in Delta Green’s victory over guest team Bourget College. Schneider would open the scoring early on the powerplay and add the insurance marker later in the second following Katie Olfert’s game winner earlier in the frame. Madison Levesque (2G) would score a pair for Bourget Varsity, giving some life, but not enough to overcome the 5-0 hole they found themselves in. Mya Young (30/33) posted 30 saves in the win, even picking up an assist on Darby Amundson’s empty netter.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (10) U18 Prep
Ethan Barela may have opened the scoring for Wenatchee early in the first. But the rest of the frame would be completely dominated by Delta, scoring five unanswered to close the frame, including a pair from Conor Nicolson (2G, 2A) only 27-seconds apart. Delta would run away in the second, scoring another three goals, adding a 10th in the third. Dylan Hurren (2G, 1A) scored a pair from the point while Jack Morgan (1G, 4A) and Kesler Curtis (1G, 3A) racked up points in the assist department.
Notre Dame Hounds (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U18 Prep
NAX’s powerplay was the key in Saturday’s victory over Notre Dame. Wenatchee Wild prospect Kalen Miles got the ball rolling on the man advantage in the first. A scoreless second would follow, but a quick powerplay goal in the third from Luke Dumas (1G, 1A) doubled NAX’s lead. Brady Ondrus would add a third for NAX later in the frame, capping off a 3-0 victory for the Xtreme. Karter Gibson (21/21) stopped all 21 shots for his seventh career CSSHL shutout.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs OHA Edmonton (3) U18 Prep
Miles Hartmann’s early breakaway snipe would end up standing as the GWG over Pilot Mound as the Buffaloes struggled to generate offense at the Royal Glenora Club. Iljas Hasuew and Ben Shaw would provide the other two OHA Edmonton tallies while Cam Hoose (23/23) stopped all 23 shots on goal for his first shutout of the campaign.
North Shore Warriors (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) U17 Prep
Aiden Andrews (1G, 1A) and Marshall Lyons would split the scoring between NSW and RHA Kelowna through the opening twenty minutes. RHA Kelowna would find their groove in the second after Kaius Millan (1G, 1A) buried the go-ahead goal. RINK would go on to score another three unanswered, establishing a 5-1 lead. Rex Norman would score his first of the season late in the frame to give some life to the Warriors entering the third. However, RHA Kelowna would hold on to their lead, with Griffin Hoy (3G) polishing off his hat-trick with their sixth of the evening. Matthew Palmer (33/35) would record 33 saves in the W.
Balmoral Hall School (2) vs Shawnigan Lake School (5) Female U18 Prep
Balmoral Hall may have had the edge in advantage during the first period, but a shorthanded goal from Zoe Cramer (2G, 1A) tilted the score in Shawnigan’s favour through one. Matylda Stepien would get Balmoral Hall on the board in the second, but a quick response from Danika Eheler restored Shawnigan’s lead. Cramer would build off this lead, adding Shawnigan’s third while Lyla Swift picked the top corner to establish a 4-1 lead by the end of the second. Charlotte Lawson’s fifth of the season sealed the contest up for Shawnigan.
Okanagan Hockey Ontario (7) vs CIH Academy (3) East U17
Thomas Garland (3G) led the charge for OHO, collecting a hat-trick in a 7-3 victory on CIH Academy’s home turf. Ryan Sucher would also score a Top 10 contender for his first of the season. Tommy Nemeth (2G, 1A) also collected a pair of goals for OHO while Joshua Moncrieff (3A) tallied three helpers.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (6) vs Shawnigan Lake School (4) U17 Prep
Shawnigan was feeling the home-ice advantage early after Carson Peet and Darwin Ketch got the opening two goals in this contest. Ethan Miller (1G, 1A) would get one back for CDA just before the end of the first. Miller’s goal would serve crucial as CDA would turn up the notch in the tail end of the second. Lucas Kohoutek and AJ Fu (3G) would strike in quick succession to give CDA their first lead of the game before the ice clean. In the third, Shawnigan would stir things back in their favour after captain Matthew Morris dangled his way end-to-end before lifting a backhander past Liam Rogers (38/42). Matthew Steele would restore Shawnigan’s lead soon after with heat seeking wrister from the left circle. However, 20-seconds after Steele’s go-ahead goal, Fu would strike off a turnover, tying this game back up at 4-4. Five minutes later, Gavin Payne (1G, 2A) would strike once more for CDA, restoring their lead. Fu would later add an empty netter, sealing CDA’s win and his hat-trick.
Yale Hockey Academy (4) vs STAR Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep
Following an eventless first, Yale struck early off a slot shot from Michael Kuzik (1G, 2A). Later in the frame, defenceman Santino Iriberri put on the moves for a dazzling goal to put Yale up by a pair. STAR was punishing Yale in the shot department through forty but couldn’t find an answer for Coby Kidwell (39/40), who stopped all 17 shots against in the second period. Early in the third, Daniel Havard’s (1G, 1A) wrister would sneak five-hole, giving the Lions a 3-0 lead. Kyler Bush would eventually get STAR on the board on an unimpeded breakaway. However, it was not enough to surmount their 3-0 deficit. Chace Smith would go on to add the empty netter, sealing off a 4-1 win for Yale. Kidwell would make an astounding 39 saves in the winning effort.
Shawnigan Lake School (0) vs BWC Academy (9) U15 Prep
Define dominance… BWC Academy sure did Saturday evening, labelling 95 shots on net in a 9-0 victory over Shawnigan Lake. Ryder Bui (4G) led the charge with a four-goal outing, giving the Richmond, BC native 11 goals on the year. Kristian Lima (2G) and Kenzo Gibson (2G, 1A) would each find the back of the net twice while Michael Puddicombe (3A) and Rowan Steacy (3A) each provided three helpers. Jordan Bigelow (15/15) picked up the shutout for BWC Academy, but hands down to Shawnigan goaltender Bryce Roache (86/95) making a whopping 85 saves on the evening for a 0.905SV%.
BWC Academy (5) vs St. George’s School (6) U18 Prep
Saturday night’s showdown between BWC Academy and St. George’s did not disappoint in the slightest. Dominic Seminoff (1G, 1A) would get the party started with a grimy goal for BWC Academy. However, a powerplay goal from top Vancouver Giants prospect, Louis Oscar Holowaychuk (3G, 1A) would bring this back to a 1-1 hockey game before the end of the first. In the second, BWC Academy would catch ablaze, scoring three unanswered goals to establish a 4-1 lead just over five minutes into the second. St. George’s would claw back a pair of goals before conceding a penalty shot. Carter Adams (55/60) would come up clutch, stoning Charlie Robinson (2A) on the unimpeded opportunity. Just over a minute after Adams’ clutch save, Isaac Derksen (2G) would score a clutch goal, skating past a BWC Academy defender before wiring home the game tying goal. Early in the third, Derksen would come through again, potting his second of the evening and giving the Saints their first lead of the contest. Fast forward to the halfway point of the third and BWC Academy would respond as Luca Martyniuk buried the game tying goal. Time would trickle down as this one had OT written all over it. However, off an offensive zone draw Holowaychuk would wire home his third of the night, putting the Saints ahead with just over a minute to go. Adams would come up clutch in the final moments, making a handful of key saves to keep St. George’s ahead. Holowaychuk’s goal would stand as the GWG while Adams collected 55 saves in the 6-5 victory.
Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs STAR Hockey Academy (3) U15
Asher Kekke (2G, 1A) continued his dominant showing at the U15 Showcase, opening the scoring with a wicked wrist shot to give STAR the early go-ahead. Later in the frame, Maguire Lepp (2G, 1A) would cram home a loose puck, tying things up before the end of the period. In the second, Matthew Atherley (1G, 1A) would restore STAR’s lead with his 10th of the season. However, Prairie would ignite a run shortly after, scoring three goals in 2:28 to establish a 4-2 lead. Kekke would get STAR back to within one, but another response would arrive for that as Lepp potted his second of the evening as well. The third would remain scoreless as Prairie would ride their 5-3 win into the sunset.
Bourget College Prep (3) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) Female U18 Prep
Bourget Prep would get the upper hand on Pilot Mound through the opening twenty as Tatiana Deblois (2G, 1A) scored a pair of goals. Into the second, Pilot Mound would pick up momentum, ultimately paying off with a goal from Wytten Constant (1G, 1A) as her point shot found the back of the net. Pilot Mound would carry that momentum into the third as they would go on to score three unanswered goals on Bourget Prep. Rory Perrin (2G) would net a pair while Sadie Swanton wired one from the point. Lucia Luptokova (1G, 1A) would get one back for Bourget Prep, but Pilot Mound would prevail, capturing their first win of the season! Rehn Hall (34/37) played a crucial role in goal, stopping 34 shots in the win.
Edge School (2) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep
It was nothing but action in the opening frame of this contest as Julian Revel and Antonio Cazac burst on to the scene for an early 2-0 lead for Edge School. However, SAHA would clap back with a rapid pair of their own. Dylan Sherban would deflect home SAHA’s first while Damen Vanderberg wired home a far out wrister to tie things up before the ice clean. Time would tick in the second with back-and-forth action, but Kutcher Aquila (1G, 1A) was the only one to find twine, labelling one for the back of the net off a clean curl and shoot from the right circle. The score would remain at 3-2 as a scoreless third followed, leaving Aquila’s tally as the GWG. Medicine Hat Tigers prospect Cash Christie (28/30) tallied 28 saves in the victory.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) U17
Nathan Marques (2G, 1A) scored the first’s lone goal shorthanded, giving OHA the early advantage. OHA would continue to press in the second, scoring twice out the gate to establish a 3-0 lead. In a call up from U15 Prep, Brayden Lindsay (1G, 2A) would nab his first in U17 competition, putting PCHA on the board. Into the third, OHA would add another three unanswered in quick fashion, including another shorthanded tally by Marques. The Sea Devils would give OHA a scare with three of their own quickly after, but an empty netter from Dreyden Rayburn (1G, 2A) put this game to bed.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (3) vs OHA Edmonton (7) U15 Prep
OHA Edmonton’s fire power was too much for SAHA to contain in a statement win to move to 7-0-1 on the season. Ian Kim (2G, 1A) and Kobe Pellack (2G, 1A) led the way with a pair of goals and three points each while Micah Montgomery (1G, 2A) opted for the opposite. Rowen Germain (17/20) was in goal for the late night win.
