GAME DAY RECAP: October 10, 2026

Prairie Hockey Academy (0) vs BWC Academy (5) U17 Prep

BWC Academy bounced back from defeat yesterday with a 5-0 win over Prairie to improve to 8-1-0 on the season. Wyatt Lowther (2G) opened the scoring with a breakaway goal late in the first period. Hayden Carpenter doubled the lead early in the second before Lowther scored on another breakaway and Kaz Westcott found the back of the net 2:01 later. Rhys McFarlane rounded out the scoring with a goal late in the third and Tyson Oake (34/34) made 34 saves for the shutout.

Shawnigan Lake School (7) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep

Carson Peet (3G, 1A) opened the scoring for Shawnigan 8:47 into the first with his second goal of the season before Sammy Hoeft and Egan Kenny scored 1:17 apart midway through the period to give Shawnigan a 3-0 lead. JT Graham-Forman would get one back for Wenatchee late in the period as he beat Liam Chamberlain (10/11) on a breakaway. Peet scored the lone second period goal on a shot from the top of the slot to increase the Shawnigan lead after 40. Maddoch Bond added a power play goal in the third alongside Matthew Morris (1G, 2A) and Peet even strength goals, with Peet completing the hat-trick with a high blocker snipe. Bannen Clements (55/62) faced 62 shots in net in the loss.

LA Jr. Kings (1) vs North Shore Warriors (9) U18 Prep

North Shore grabbed a 9-1 win Saturday on the back of a four-point performance from Brady Elbert (2G, 2A) and 17 saves by Sam Paquet (17/18). Jack Adams (1G, 1A), Vlad Ibragimov, Jayden Maschke, Tristan Peterson (1G, 1A), Otto Puhakka (1G, 1A) and Will Thompson scored the other goals for North Shore in the win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep

Max Ritchey (2G) opened the scoring midway through the opening period as he beat Ben Wagner (37/41) for his first of the season. Jace Williams (3G) doubled the lead 4:43 into the second, scoring his first of the campaign as well. Yukon Kim would get one back for NAX a few minutes later, but Williams responded for Yale with his season of the period with 8:29 to play. Ritchey doubled down 5:25 into the third as Yale pushed ahead 4-1. Matthew Brown would get NAX back within two, leading to them pulling the goalie as they looked for an equaliser, but empty net goals from Williams and Gavin Copley secured the Yale victory. Logan Hwang (45/47) made 45 shots in net for the win while Mason Cuminskey (4A) led all skaters with four points.

Indigenous Sports Academy (0) vs Shawnigan Lake School (8) U17 Prep

Shawnigan outshot ISA 59-24 with Eston Clement (24/24) saving all 24 shots he faced to earn the shutout and give his team the 8-0 win. Hayden Slade (3A) and Wyatt Wesner (2G, 1A) led all skaters with three points, while Nate Brocklehurst (1G, 1A), Ben Broekhuizne (2A), Asher Devries (2A), Max Hoeft (1G, 1A), William Li (1G, 1A), Chase Murgatroyd (1G, 1A) and Ben Van Der Linde (2A) all had multi point games.

St. George’s School (3) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

Fifty-two shots, three goals, and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy still had a chance in the final minutes. That was down to Yuki Kido, who stopped 49 of them in a performance that deserved a better result. St. George’s outshot PMHA 21-3 in a scoreless first. The wall finally cracked early in the second, when Holden Tuttle (1G) carried the puck in and beat Kido to open the scoring, with Shay Soo (1G, 1A) earning the helper. PMHA pulled even on the power play through Brock Vodden (1G), set up by Max Schütz (1G, 1A). Then St. George’s grabbed the period. Soo (1G, 1A) found the net out of a pileup at the crease for his first goal of the year, and Aaron Castro (1G) cashed in on the power play from another goalmouth scramble with 90 seconds left in the frame. Schütz (1G, 1A) answered with the extra man 98 seconds into the third, PMHA’s second power-play goal of the day. From there, Joffrey Chan (18/20) and the SGS group held off an 11-shot push in the third to close it out.

North Shore Warriors (4) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

North Shore’s six-game winless run ended at the Leduc Rec Centre, and the Warriors got there without a single power-play goal. They didn’t need one. Wenatchee went 0-for-9 with the extra man, and Bruno Jeschonnek (24/25) dealt with almost everything else. Defenceman Ethan Cull (1G, 1A) opened the scoring in the first, and Trent Keenan (1G) potted his first of the season before the period was out. Hunter McIntosh (1G) pulled the Wild within one late in the frame, but that was as close as they got. North Shore outshot Wenatchee 52-25, and William Duffy spent most of the day under siege, finishing with 48 saves on 52 shots and holding the gap at one until Liam McMorran (1G) found the net midway through the second. Drew Fulton (1G) put it away early in the third, with Cull (1G, 1A) on the helper.

Yale Hockey Academy (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) U18 Prep

If you only looked at the shot clock, you’d have picked the wrong winner. Yale Hockey Academy fired 52 shots, 20 of them in the third, and Noah Hawkins stopped 51 to hand YHA its first loss of the season. Parker McMillan (1G) beat him once, midway through the first, and that was the last time Yale found a way past the Winnipeg netminder. RINK Winnipeg’s group made the most of a modest workload. Liam Harvey (1G) pulled even early in the second with his first of the season, cashing in out of a crowd at the crease. Colton Brum (1G) then put Winnipeg in front midway through the third, in a period when his team managed only four shots. Coby Kidwell (23/25) was steady at the other end, and neither side scored on the power play, 0-for-9 combined.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) vs St. George’s School (4) U17 Prep

Patient for two periods, ruthless in the third. St. George’s was outshot 26-20 through 40 minutes but never trailed, thanks largely to Cohen Wood, who turned aside 31 of 32 and came within one shot of a shutout. Theo Wesik (1G, 2A) opened the scoring midway through the first. Defenceman Matthias Goetz (1G) doubled the lead late in the second with his first of the season. Pilot Mound needed only 52 seconds to answer, as Edin Korajac (1G) carried the puck through the neutral zone and beat Wood for his fifth of the year. The third flipped the shot clock to 17-6 for St. George’s, and Maksim Tkachenko (1G) cashed in on the power play to restore the two-goal cushion. Jayden Ni (1G, 2A) added the exclamation point with one second left, capping three-point nights for both him and Wesik (1G, 2A). Lucas Mills (33/37) kept PMHA within reach for most of the afternoon.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) U17 Prep

Same academy, different cities, and Winnipeg took the bragging rights in the season’s first meeting between the two RINK programs. The first period alone produced five goals. Max Sanders (1G, 1A) opened the scoring with his first of the year. After Dexter Labrecque (2G, 1A) answered, defenceman Zachary Haney (1G) went in alone on a penalty shot and beat Satori Tam (44/50). Luca Vaugeois (1G) tied it late in the frame, but Alex Delorme (1G) needed only 35 seconds to put Winnipeg back in front, carrying the puck up ice and scoring with six seconds left. Sully Taylor (1G) and a power-play goal from Aiden Christie (1G, 1A) made it 5-2 through 40 minutes. Then Kelowna came charging. The visitors fired 20 shots in the third, and goals from Labrecque (2G, 1A) and Jaxon Lodge (1G, 1A) cut the gap to one. David Ring (1G) answered quickly, pulling away on a solo rush, and Miller Fettes made 36 saves on 40 shots to see it home.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) vs Edge School (3) U18 Prep

Third game in three days, and Edge School is still perfect. It took one good stretch to stay that way. RHA Kelowna had the better of the opening period, outshooting Edge 10-4, and Cole Hamakawa (1G) gave Kelowna the lead late in the frame. Edge answered with a six-minute burst in the second. Luka Samu (1G) cashed in on the power play after a too-many-men call, Ryder Lefaivre (1G) potted his first goal of the season, and Luke Bodtker (1G) struck 52 seconds later to make it 3-1. Defenceman Easton Perzylo (2A) set up the first two. Kelowna spent the third trying to claw back and outshot Edge 18-5 in the period. Alexander Sharman (1G) pulled them within one midway through, but that was all Delano Pockar would allow. The Edge netminder finished with 37 saves on 39 shots, and Edge improved to 5-0.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep

Twenty-one seconds. That’s all it took for Coeur d’Alene’s blue line to put CIHA in a 2-0 hole midway through the first, as defencemen Chase Walter (1G) and Eliott Fatmi (1G) scored back to back. CDA wouldn’t celebrate again. Kai Dingwall (1G, 1A) cut the gap less than two minutes later. He then set up Sutton Hodgetts (1G, 1A) for the equalizer before the period was out, Hodgetts’s first goal of the season. Declan Cardiff (1G) gave Calgary International the lead in the second, with Easton Barry (2A) picking up his second helper of the day. The third belonged entirely to CIHA. Chasen Robson (1G), Cohen Larson (1G) on the power play and Aidan McIntosh (1G) all found the net, the last two 37 seconds apart, and defenceman Jacob Balaberda (2A) set up both. After the early burst, Colton Lutz (28/30) gave CDA nothing. Six unanswered goals stretched CIHA’s winning streak to three and snapped Coeur d’Alene’s at the same number.

OHA Edmonton (4) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (5/OT) U15

Jack Blair (3G) saved his best for last. The CIHA forward tied the game, put his team ahead, then ended it 74 seconds into overtime, driving hard to the net and getting the winner past Ayden Medeiros as he went down. It took that long because OHA Edmonton kept answering. Calgary International jumped out 2-0 inside the first three minutes on goals from Emerson Constable (1G, 1A) and Thompson Kreba (1G). OHAE erased the deficit in a six-second span late in the period, with a power-play goal from Duke Hughes (1G) followed right away by one from Rocco Bit (1G). Defenceman Maddox Peddle (1G) gave Edmonton its only lead on the power play in the second, and Blair (3G) evened it almost immediately. His power-play goal in the third looked like the winner until Huxley Kehler (1G, 2A) tied it late in regulation. Medeiros made 35 saves on 40 shots to keep OHAE alive despite being outshot 40-28, but Edmonton still came away with its second straight overtime loss.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs Edge School (3) U17

A day after Northern Alberta Xtreme beat them 2-1, Edge’s U17 group evened the weekend by doing its damage when the clock was running down. NAX struck first midway through the opening period through Reed Fellows (1G), and the lead held almost to the intermission. Then, with 16 seconds left, Nixon Reid-Dinning (2G) tied it out of traffic at the net, with Satoshi Takeda (2A) earning the helper. Jaret Otto (1G) put the Mountaineers ahead early in the second. Reid-Dinning (2G) came through again at the end of the period, scoring on the power play as Takeda (2A) set that one up too. The shots finished even at 28 apiece, and Rajan Niwa made sure the third stayed quiet, turning aside 27 of 28 on the afternoon. Nixon Riggins (25/28) was just as busy at the other end, but his team couldn’t find a way back.

Edge School (2) vs OHA Edmonton (4) Women’s U18 Prep

Edge came into the rematch looking to erase a 5-0 loss from the night before, and spent the first period digging a deeper hole. Riley Cooper (1G) scored 23 seconds in, Siri Bolding (1G, 1A) added one of her own after setting up Cooper’s opener, and Ryann Chimera (1G) made it 3-0 before the period was 13 minutes old. Edge’s response came quickly in the second. Jocelyn Bodnar (1G) struck early, and Avery Michaluk (1G) potted her first goal of the season less than three minutes later to cut the gap to one. From there the game belonged to the netminders. Peyton Lane kept Edge within striking distance and finished with 26 saves on 29 shots, and Emma Skolney (21/23) gave nothing back over the final 36 minutes as OHAE outshot Edge 13-7 in the third. Mercedes Dunbar (1G, 1A) sealed it with an empty-netter in the final minutes, completing the weekend sweep to stay unbeaten on the season.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (5) vs STAR Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep

Two shorthanded goals, zero power-play goals allowed, and a 54-22 edge in shots. On a day when Calgary International spent plenty of time in the box, the penalty kill did as much damage as the offence. Liam Nycholat (3G) opened the scoring early in the first and restored the lead on the power play less than a minute into the second, after Rhys Rucintango (1G, 1A) and defenceman Frank Schiavone (1G) answered for STAR. Schiavone’s goal was his first of the season and briefly tied it 2-2. The game turned late in the second, when Devin Shape (1G, 1A) broke away shorthanded and beat Logan Gardiner to make it 3-2. Kale Okubo (1G) struck shorthanded again early in the third, and Nycholat (3G) completed the hat-trick late, with defenceman Max Rex (2A) assisting two of his three. Gardiner was the main reason STAR stayed in it, making 49 saves on 54 shots. Taylor Green (20/22) handled the rest as STAR went 0-for-6 with the extra man.

Delta Hockey Academy Green (2/OT) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) Women’s U18 Prep

Delta Green made it three wins in three meetings with RINK Kelowna this season, and once again it took everything they had. A day after a 2-1 win over the same opponent, the teams went 40 minutes without a goal, with Jenna Ring and Mya Young trading saves at either end. Special teams finally broke the deadlock. Adie Schneider (1G, 1A) cashed in on a third-period power play, finding the net in a goalmouth scramble with Ring down in her crease. Kelowna answered the same way, as Ava Hrubeniuk (1G) scored on the power play with three and a half minutes left in regulation. In overtime, a Kelowna tripping call handed Delta one more advantage. Schneider (1G, 1A) and Emma Biros (2A) combined to set up Samera Gabriel (1G), who ended it out of another crowd at the net 2:15 into the extra frame. All three goals came on the power play. Ring (31/33) kept her team in it all afternoon, but Young was better when it mattered, stopping 20 of 21 as Delta stayed perfect on the road.

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Notre Dame came in on a three-game winning streak and spent the afternoon throwing everything at Gunner Podollan. Fifty-nine shots later, the streak was over. The Coeur d’Alene netminder stood tall from start to finish, stopping 58 of them as the Hounds outshot CDA in every period. His teammates gave him a cushion right at the end of the first, when Daniel Kos (1G) struck off the rush with 11 seconds left for his first goal of the season. Eli Swift (1G) finally solved Podollan midway through the second. Brayden Lee (1G) answered with his own first goal of the season barely four minutes later, set up by Jagger Clark (1A). Santiago Schyns-Munoz did his part at the other end, turning aside 41 of 43, but Notre Dame’s 0-for-3 power play couldn’t find the equalizer. Ethan Miller (1G) sealed it with an empty-netter in the final seconds, and CDA snapped a two-game skid.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (0) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4) U15

Worth the wait. STAR came into Kent Valley without a win in five tries this season and left with a 4-0 result and a shutout to go with it. Ian Harder (2G) set the tone late in the first, going in alone while STAR was a man down to score shorthanded. Owen Miller (2G, 1A) doubled the lead early in the second, set up by Sawyer Glass (2A). After that, STAR’s power play took over the third. Harder (2G) cashed in on the man advantage, with Miller (2G, 1A) earning the helper, and Miller added a power-play goal of his own two minutes later, Glass (2A) again playing provider. At the other end, Wyatt Scott barely had to be spectacular, but he was perfect, stopping all 18 shots, including just two in the third. PCHA’s Hunter Villecourt made 30 saves on 34 shots to keep the score respectable. The Pacific Coast side remains in search of its first win.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (6/SO) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep

Down 4-1 after 40 minutes, South Alberta scored four times in the third, then won it in a shootout to stretch its winning streak to four. For two periods this was Okanagan’s game. Nathan Marques (2G, 1A) and Seve Paladino (1G, 2A) drove a three-goal first period, with Luke Couldwell (2A) helping set up both of Marques’s goals. Dreyden Rayburn (1G) added a fourth in the second. Then SAHA flipped the script, outshooting OHA 17-8 in the third. Jaxon Scherr (1G) and Kovann Chisholm (3G) pulled the home side within one inside the first five minutes. Marques (2G, 1A) answered, but Brendan Espersen (1G) replied barely a minute later. Chisholm (3G) completed the hat-trick with six minutes left to tie it, defenceman Mark Ma (2A) having fed him twice. Overtime settled nothing. In the shootout, Scherr (1G) was the only shooter to score, and Paxton Smigelski stopped Landon Ruck, Paladino and Marques to seal it. Holden Tamm made 37 saves on 42 shots for OHA, while Smigelski stopped 33 of 38.

BWC Academy (3) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep

Sixty-one shots against nineteen. A 3-0 lead early in the third. And somehow BWC Academy lost for the first time this season. For 40 minutes it looked like a routine BWC afternoon. Kayden Pratt (2G) scored his first two goals of the season in the opening period, one of them on the power play. SAHA’s Chase Nielson was under siege, facing 27 shots in the first period alone. Justin Moon (1G) made it 3-0 on a power play 54 seconds into the third, with defenceman Elias Papadatos (2A) picking up his second helper. Then the floodgates opened the other way. Duke Lesnar (2G) answered 42 seconds later, Nixon Bettenson (1G) converted on the power play, and Lesnar struck again to tie it at 7:12, with Dylan Sherban (2A) setting up both of his goals. Cohenn Rotar (2G) put South Alberta ahead midway through the period, Carter Gilchrist (1G) added insurance, and Rotar sealed it into an empty net. Elias Mitrikas (13/18) had little to do until the third, while Nielson stopped 58 shots and kept his team close enough for the comeback.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (0) U17

Both goaltenders stole the show in the first period between the Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy and RINK Kelowna, with Griffin Prairie Chicken (28/28) and Aiden Olynick (46/50) making every necessary save in the first. It took a mere 16 seconds in the second, however, for Truman Forbes to break through to give RHA Kelowna the first lead of the game. Cole Morley scored late in the second shorthanded to double the RHAK lead, with Forbes’ second of the game proving the dagger early in the third. Harlan Grimsdell added a fourth, with Prairie Chicken (28/28) shutting the door to help protect the RHAK lead in a shutout win.

Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U17

A first period of dominance from the Prairie Hockey Academy sent them on their way in Saturday’s clash between PHA and the Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, with Titan Sauter (1G, 1A) stealing the puck and dancing his way to the net early to establish a lead that PHA wouldn’t squander. Tony King would double the lead short hereafter, with David Osiowy’s (1G, 2A) three points helping Prairie to a 5-1 win.

Delta Hockey Academy White (2) vs St. George’s School (3/OT) U15

Delta Hockey Academy White led twice in their U15 clash with St. George’s School on Wednesday, but both times they did, the Saints fought back to square things up. Linden Samra’s powerplay goal in the first was responded to in kind by Rhys Borisoff (1G, 1A), with Borisoff then providing the primary assist on Eli Faulds’ third period equalizer. A back-and-forth overtime saw Forrest Zhu find the game-winning goal with 26 seconds left, lifting St. George’s School to victory, aided by Saints goaltender Chris Liu stopping 27 in the win.

OHA Edmonton (1) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep

OHA Edmonton controlled the first two periods of Saturday’s game against the Pacific Coast Sea Devils, but PCHA proved the more opportunistic of the two teams, with Hudson Elke and Owen Watkin’s goals leading PCHA through forty minutes with a 2-1 lead. Come the third period, PCHA would see Brayden Lindsay (3G, 2A) go to work, scoring a natural hat-trick in barely over eleven minutes of game time to lift PCHA to a lead they wouldn’t squander. Rio Manhas stopped 54 of 55, including 42 of 43 in the first forty minutes for the Sea Devils’ victory.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (9) vs STAR Hockey Academy (3) U17

An explosion of first-period offence from the Pacific Coast Sea Devils lifted them far enough above the STAR Hockey Academy to seal the game’s result early. Lucas Ross (3G, 1A) scored two of PCHA’s five consecutive goals to start the first period, with PCHA taking a 9-1 lead just past the halfway point of the third period. A couple at the end from STAR made a dent in PCHA’s lead, with Camden Freeman scoring twice in the ultimately unsuccessful effort.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs BWC Academy (0) U17

Owen Magness (2G, 1A) got things started for OHA Penticton burying an even strength and powerplay goal to give them a 2-0 lead through one. Reece Verrier (2G) added OHA Penticton’s third halfway through the second for the lone goal of the frame and capped off their scoring in the third. Nathen Bazley (32/32) played perfect through sixty, recording the shutout in a 4-0 win.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (7) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

A high flying first period saw Prairie Hockey Academy jump to a 3-2 lead thanks to a late pair of goals, notably Ramsey Thompson’s (2G) tally which came in with only four seconds to spare. In the second, the Sea Devils would take control of play. Keegan Brown (1G, 1A) opened the scoring early while Owen Bate and Treytin Frizzell (1G, 2A) buried an extra pair later in the frame to establish a 5-3 lead. Prairie would muster another 15 shots on net in the final frame but could not find another answer for Mikai Mast (34/37) as he played a perfect game in the final forty. Cortland LeMieux (1G, 2A) and Cameron Young-Thompson (1G, 2A) would add the extra insurance in the third.

Edge School (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

Delta’s offense continues to shine in a yet another prolific outing vs. Edge School. Carson Brown (3G, 1A) added another hat-trick to his tremendous season bringing the Saskatoon Blades prospect to 24 points in 6 games played. Colby Walker (5A) suited the role as playmaker, recording five assists in the 7-3 win. Braelyn Nunley (2G) would add another pair for Delta as well while Jace Zemanek made 28 saves in the victory.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) vs OHA Edmonton (5) U18 Prep

The battle of OHA saw Edmonton land on top in a tense matchup at our U18 Prep showcase. Artello Forestal opened the scoring with the lone goal in the first after Micah Montgomery (2A) made a strong power move down the left boards. Edmonton took control in the second potting another three to their total as David Lu, Steven Leavitt and Kaysun Brunham (1G, 1A) found their firsts of the season. Clark Schneider buried the extra insurance early in the third while Dysen Loewen went 40/40 for his fourth career CSSHL shutout.

STAR Hockey Academy (11) vs Notre Dame Hounds (2) U18 Prep

STAR’s offense shined in their evening tilt with Notre Dame with only a single skater left off the scoresheet in an 11-goal outing. Leading the way, Liam Yackel (2G, 3A) and Sean Strasser (2G, 3A) combined for 11-points. Zakhar Kovalenko would also find the back of the net twice while Brenden Donahue racked up three assists. Griffin Fair (10/12) also registered an assist in goal as he made 10 stops in the victory. Nate McRorie and Ryder Kane would score Notre Dame’s lone pair.

Delta Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) U18 Prep

Lincoln Eaves (2G) and Ethan Kitchen would split the scoring between NAX and Delta in the late game at Planet Ice. Come the second period, NAX would break through with the lead as Brock Dubitz notched his first of the season. Eaves would add a third goal to NAX’s total with little time remaining in the frame. Eli Piquette would secure some insurance for NAX in the third picking their fourth. William Trolland would get one back for Delta late in the 4-2 loss. Dawson Sheehan (33/35) registered 33-saves in the win as they improve to 2-0-0 on the weekend.
